James 1:27
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

By Pamela Smith
Falling in love with Jesus makes us want to do what pleases Him. We serve and give out of love rather than out of rules and regulations. Let’s look at what makes a Bride pleasing to her groom.
Doing what pleases the Groom in this case Jesus Christ certainly must rank highly on the list. Christ has a slightly different criteria of beauty than we mortals do. It is the beauty of pure heart and living rightly before God and man that he finds beautiful. What makes us please Him? Faith is number one followed by obedience for without faith it is impossible to please God combined with obedience to His Word.
Another important thing Christ asked us to do was to take care of widow and orphans as this pleases God. The Bible reveals God’s attitude toward orphans and widows: He cares very deeply for them. God commands us to protect and care for orphans and widows (Psalm 82:3).
The Bible tells us that God Himself steps in to fill the role of protecting and caring for orphans and widows. “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling” (Psalm 68:5).
In our world, those who are helpless tend to be taken advantage of by those who think they can get away with it. However, nothing escapes God’s notice, and He will avenge the orphans and widows. “You, LORD, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed, so that mere earthly mortals will never again strike terror” (Psalm 10:17–18).
We are Christ’s hands and feet and a physical source of His love, in other words, we are Jesus with skin on. This gives us a huge responsibility to represent Him as good ambassadors of His Kingdom, so what to do?

Get wisdom, pray and obey: -
The Bible is a great source of wisdom. It says that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. Also, that winning souls is a wise goal to have accordingly, because you are investing in the eternal matters of people’s souls. Christianity that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from unrighteousness, James 1:27 · Psalm 68:5 · Psalm 146:9
It seems these days everyone is asking for our money and I don’t want this to be just another begging letter. I want to point out why this matters for us.
Why this orphanage matters: -
You may say, I must look after my own family first and that is true. What I know having visited third world countries is that the children and young people are so grateful for any help and desperate for any kind of love they really utilize what you give them. They appreciate education, and things we take for granted, somewhere safe to live, food in their bellies, even a kind word can change a life.
I am a grandma now and enjoyed rearing my children and now grandchildren. Having travelled quite a bit now I have observed over and over that no-matter how hard up we think we are here, it is nothing compared with ‘hard up’ in third world countries. Often our children do not value our education system, and can have an entitlement attitude, because they are used to having so much.
Much of the third world children for the most part receive our gifts with unbelievable gratitude and loyalty and work very hard to make the most of what we give to them. They become high achievers, whether academically or in other ways. These children and young people will go on to make a difference in their world. We want the leaders of tomorrow to be Godly wise people with knowledge and understanding to make healthy families, safe merciful medical practices, education for all, Godly laws for the land that are righteous and true, to be righteous influences in their culture. When we influence and help the younger ones, we are helping the world of the future to be a better place and we help ourselves as they will be the ones who will look after us in our old age.
Please would you prayerfully consider supporting these children and Mr. Kawl as he seeks to make a difference in his nation of Myanmar. The need is overwhelming, and he is willing. Let us support his humble obedient heart and his Godly work for the Kingdom of God.
Our goal is to find a sponsor for each child who'd sow $50 a month into an orphan being trained and raised up to transform this Burmese nation through the power of Jesus Christ. To donate visit the top right hand of the page.
Thank you.
Sincerely

Why this orphanage matters: -
- Mr Kawl is a faithful and true servant of God with a very difficult task before him.
- He currently has nine children living with him, but there are many more needing accommodation and education as well as love.
- Myanmar (used to be Burma) and went through cruel civil war via a coup detas with a particularly nasty dictator. In fact, it has the distinction of being the longest running civil war in the modern era. Over 60 years. Many of the adults in the country were killed. Many have died through the aide’s epidemic leaving lots of children unable to take of themselves.
