Sometimes, seasons overlap such that we can be in a time of conflict (Matthew 24, wars and rumors of war) even when we enter into a season where love, gratitude, joy and peace ought to reign supreme (Christmas). How do you handle it when seasons overlap?
I submit to you, one season focuses about what is happening on earth while another season looks to what has happened in heaven. My advice, look up! That's what Jesus tells us in Luke 21:28. Adjust your gaze.
We’ve entered a season wherein Christ is celebrated. We’ve entered a season where our Heavenly Father gave His only begotten Son. He knew the depths of mankind’s sin. He knew mankind could never pay the penalty for sin so that it could be removed so that God could have a relationship with us.
So He gave His Son knowing He was going to the Cross. We celebrate that act of love in this season.
Jesus following in His Father’s example, choose to embrace the Cross for us. Then He rose from the dead and when He ascended He gave gifts to equip and perfect His Church for the presentation of His gospel of the kingdom. He also sent us Holy Spirit.
In this season of spiritual war, I choose to...
It’s my hope that with each earthly gift you receive, you’ll remember these heavenly gifts we’ve been given and you will choose to open them regularly with enthusiasm. So, in this season of Matthew 24...
I choose to look up.
I choose to be grateful.
I choose to rejoice in Christ’s finished work.
I choose to rejoice in Christ’s soon return.
I choose to follow Christ and to be one of the ones who hastens the day of our Lord (2 Peter 3:10-12).
I hope you do to.
Merry Christmas
