How to Respond to Prophetic Words in Turbulent Times!

6/30/2020

PictureClick for 15 min. Youtube
by Tim Taylor, June 30, 2020 - This morning I saw this prophetic word from Pastor Dana in my Facebook feed.  In the last two days I must have received this 20 times.

The question was asked, "Can some of you precious friends listen to this and prayerfully tell me your thoughts."  This is what I shared and I thought of this as a teaching moment.

How to Judge Prophetic Words
If I may offer and stir up our minds in the way of remembrance.

First,  remember that 1 Corinthians 13:9 says, "For we know in part and we prophesy in part."

Second, 1 Corinthians 14:29 says, "Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge."

Three, remember that most prophetic words are conditional based upon people’s responses.  For example, consider Jonah 3:4 which says, "And Jonah began to enter the city on the first day's walk. Then he cried out and said, "Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!"..... Jonah 3:5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them..... Jonah 3:9-10 Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish?  Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it."

In that day, some might of called Jonah a false prophet for his warning did not come to pass. But the truth is, they repented so God relented.  God changed His mind based upon their response.

In addition, God has spoken through other prophets and prophetic voices giving us insight into His will and desired outcome.  Wisdom and the lessons of Israel's deliverance from Egypt need to inform our response lest we become like the 10 spies who focused on the giants rather than God's word.

Forth, due diligence requires an examination of the prophet’s character (Matt 7:15-20) which on the surface with no investigation I’d suspect he’s a godly man. Then you compare his word to the Bible. Is there anything inconsistent?

Fifth, then you compare it to other prophetic words like the ones from Rick Joyner (dream he had going into 2019 which he shared for 6 months warning about the coming civil war, note patriotism wins, click here for his interview with Jim Baker, and click here for Elijah List quote, Patriotism wins. ), Kim Clement’s words regarding Trump and two terms click here, and a host of other prophets (ie. Dutch Sheets, Johnny Enlow, Lance Wallnau, Chuck Pierce, Jim Baker, Hank Kunneman, Cindy Jacobs, Tom and Jane Hammon, Mike Thompson, Sid Roth, Charlie Shamp...and many more). Remember, prophetic words are conditional and require us to lend our lips to God’s word and often require faith in action (ie. Taking the Promised Land.  Don't let fear of the giants rob you/us).

Sixth, our job is to be good stewards/disciples and prepare personally, our families, spiritually and practically to be an instrument of our Father’s will. There are four levels of government. Personal, family, church and civil. Each person is engaged in all four areas and should prepare to respond in each one. What does our Lord require? That’s what the servant says who wants to hear well done you good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord.

Seven, with those of us collaborating together in 1Church1Day (a strategy to build our Father’s house of prayer in cities around the world), our goal is to do Psalms 68:11 where “The Lord gave the word Great was the company of those who proclaimed it:”

We want to lend our lips corporately to God’s word and release His word on earth as it is in heaven. In doing so, we become agents of His will. The rod that comes out of Zion, His ruler’s staff!  So the issue is, what is God's will?

This pastor did his job.  God gave him a message to deliver and like a good watchman in Ezekiel 33 he delivered that word otherwise, God would have held him responsible for not delivering what God gave him.  Now the responsibility falls to each of us who heard the word.

If I take the prophetic words of a host of others and put them together (way to many to list here) we get the bigger picture which shows us that God's will is for our nation to turn back to the right.  His will is that Trump have two terms.  God wants this nation positioned with freedom to play its role in the end time harvest.  Will there be a fight?  Absolutley.  We prayed for a Great Awakening and it's clear this is a wake up call.  The question is what will you and I do?

Remember, most prophetic words are conditional and require us to pray and act in faith with courage and wisdom.  Remember, when Israel was delivered from bondage in Egypt God made one decision which was to deliver Israel.  The Egyptians had a different experience than Israel in Goshen.  My point is, it is possible for two things to occur simultaneously.  It all depends upon where you position yourself.

Eight, I’ll use ourself as an example. First, we prepared for a time like this long ago practically in every area. Secondly, we’ve continued having church in our home for our neighborhood inspite of our governor’s edict (another person healed of cancer just last night, doctor verified), we work through 1Church1Day to unite the houses of prayer and churches in my state to pray and proclaim God's word.  We have formed apostolic councils in the 7 spheres and five fold to discover what the Church should pray and do. We work with legislators in our government and in fact, just this Saturday were at a rally in Olympia (capitol) and we write our governor, senators, representatives regularly and we spend personal time with the Lord in His word and prayer daily. My point is, what I shared, we do. I’d encourage ya’ll to consider the same and do, 1 Corinthians 11:1 and  "Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ."

Also, if you have links to other prophetic words perhaps from Rick Joyner, Hank Kunneman, Chuck Pierce, Dutch Sheets, Johnny Enlow.... or a host of other prophets please share them in the comment section below along with a summary of the main point God is making through that specific word.

another video of a prophecy is on you tube, i can't get the address to work, but go to you tube and search "Charlie Shamp, national prophecies coming to pass. " I disagree with him that prayer can't change this, but it is really good info to view and pray about.

Tim’s response: There are some statements I would take issue with, ie. Broad general sweeping statements about people and their work instead of specifics (ie. 1 Corinthians 2:15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, (things = words & actions) yet he himself is rightly judged by no one..... in other words God is the one who judges people. Our job is to judge words or actions. Hence, stating they missed their time table in their book. Ok. Highlight the specific thing they said that was incorrect. I’ve often found people make assumptions or imply times which are not actually stated and I would submit. How long did it take all of Isaiah’s word to come to pass? Ie. Isaiah 60 specifically vs 19 has yet to be fulfilled. At the same time, I agree with many statements and the conclusion. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Kathy,

I to wrote an article regarding the same and encouraged people to share other prophet’s responses in https://www.1church1day.org/blog/how-to-respond-to-prophetic-words-in-turbulent-times.

This is how I responded to Johnny’s word.

Tim’s response: There are some statements I would take issue with, ie. One of the critques I see often refers to the “prophetic protocol” referenced in 1 Corinthians 14:3 3 But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. The context of this is the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit given in 1 Cor. 12. The gift of prophecy which are available to anyone. These are good general rules for body ministry.

Note, there is a difference between the office of prophet/apostles and the gift of prophecy. God’ uses prophets (ie. Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Jesus, Paul, Peter just to name a few) to inform, counsel, to correct, confront kings, leaders, elders etc.

Ezekiel 33 issues a warning to watchmen. It says Ezekiel 33:6 6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand.' Hence I understand Pastor Dana’s sharing the dream.

Now, to be clear, by his own admission, he consults about 40 news sources regularly. I believe that probably influenced the dream. Some would call that 2nd heaven revelation vice getting things from God’s perspective (3rd heaven). That being said, I do not fault him for sharing what he saw. Note this example in Daniel 7:1, “Daniel had a dream and visions of his head while on his bed. Then he wrote down the dream, telling the main facts.”

That’s a good practice. Write it down and report. Remember 1 Corinthians 13:9. We know in part and prophesy in part. We’ve got to put the parts together. That’s why we consult other prophets, ministers, apostles, teachers, etc. The goal is to see the big picture and discern what’s on our Father’s heart. We’ve got to judge the word. That’s what I concluded. The consequences described in the dream actually are consistent with the warnings for disobeying God’s word in Deuteronomy 28. But we know God’s nature. If we repent, He can relent. That’s what happened at Nineveh with Jonah. That’s what was missing from this dream. But that is not a problem to me in that I have other words from other prophets. For example, I know patriotism wins. Trump gets a 2nd term. Even then, all that is conditional based upon the Church’s/people’s response. Almost all prophecies are conditional. Anyway, what is His will and what does He want the Church to proclaim? Reference the orginal article above.
