If you don't know the Word of God then you have no plumb-line to compare words and actions to. Instead they fall prey to the deception of Satan our adversary. For example, even the unbelievers know and quote Matthew 7:1 where Jesus said, "Judge not, that you may not be judged." But here is the problem. Ignorance!
You see if you read the scripture you'd see that Jesus was in the middle of a sermon. What preceded Matthew 7:1 was chapter 6 where in Jesus taught us not to pray as the hypocrites in verse 5 and not to fast like the hypocrites in verse 16. When he got to 7:1 His audience understood it was implied that we were not to judge as the hypocrites did. This is clarified in verse 5 which no one every quotes Jesus when He says, "Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."
Why in Matthew 7:15 - 20 He teaches us how to judge or discern a false prophet by examining their actions and comparing it to God's word. A tweet by Charlie Kirk on Twitter this morning about Adam Schiff provides a perfect example.
If we do what Jesus admonishes us to do in Matthew 7:15-20 and judge a person's actions by their fruit then we'd be able to discern the source and what is right and wrong. For example:
- Perjury or bearing false witness. What does God's word say?
- 1 Timothy 1:8-10
But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine - I would note here, which party currently advocates for the murder of the unborn through abortion, encourages sexual promiscuity, sodomy and who practices lying (ie. consider the false accusations and witnesses brought against Justice Kavanaugh as he was being selected for the Supreme Court)?
- 1 Timothy 1:8-10
- False Witness
- Exodus 20:16
“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. - Proverbs 14:5
A faithful witness does not lie,
But a false witness will utter lies. - Revelation 21:8
But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
- Exodus 20:16
- Jesus said in John 8:43-44
Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
So, when we find a habitual liar, one who practices perjury, and serves as a false witness then the know we've found one from whom Satan is like their father. That's the source of this impeachment trial.
It's issues and situations like this that is bringing Christians into a "valley of decision." The issue is really not, are you on the Democrat side or on the Republican side. But rather, it about did you choose to stand with God and His word in each situation.
The Republican's Are Not Innocent Either
Now to be clear, this is part of the spiritual war that is described in Revelation 12 that spilled from heaven to earth. It is waged in every sphere of society. This is an example of what it looks like in the government sphere.
There are members in the Republican party who are guilty of this as well. For example, there were many who promised to defund Planned Parenthood. Yet, when the Republican Party had the majority in the House of Representatives (2016-2018) they failed to do it. Bottom line, several failed to keep their campaign promises. They lied.
This to is the demonic at work through people. So we have two things to judge when looking at these two parties in America. There is the platform and then there are the actions of its respective members. Click here for Political Parties, Doctrines of Demons and the Christian and you'll discover how each party platform stands compared to God's word.
A Righteous Man Keeps His Word
When President Trump entered the office he came with a lot of history and character flaws. As he's progressed he has chosen to draw closer to Jesus and as this occurs he is personally changing more and more. But there is one thing in which He has been more Christlike than most of the Church.
He keeps his word. He has kept more campaign promises than any other political candidate in my life time. I absolutely marvel at that and I know what God's word says about this characteristic.
Psalm 15:4 and Ezekiel 12:25 & 28 address this issue. In Psalm 15:4 it describes the characteristics of the kind of person who can be in God's presence. One of those qualities is a man who chooses to keep his word even to his own hurt. Ezekiel 12:25 - 28 describes an aspect of God's character. He says what He does and He does what He says. He watches over His word to perform it.
We are called to be like God, are we not? Therefore, we ought to be keeping our word as well. When you find a person who keeps his/her word, then you've found one displaying an aspect of Christ's character.
It's Time for the Church to Mature
It's time for the Church go grow up don't you think? I'm praying for the maturing of the body of Christ. How about you? Will you join me in this prayer? Will you join me reading your Bible and praying daily? Will you join me in applying the word daily?
This is what is required to learn how to use God's word to discern between the true and the false today.
What say you?
