How You Stand Here Determines Your Standing in Heaven!

by Tim Taylor December 27, 2020 - Two years ago, and then early last year I prophesied about how God had brought us into a valley of decision.  There are many factions in the body of Christ, but the issues in this election between what is right and what is wicked and evil, practices the Bible described in Proverbs 6:16-19 as actions God hates.  This valley of decision has really simplified things.

Click here for the short video. You either stand with the Lord or you do not.  For those cowards who seek to straddle the fence, play both sides, there is no straddling.  To take no stand is to stand with the adversary.  It’s like what Jesus said in Matthew 12:30 30 He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.”

How you stand in adversity determines your standing in heaven. Will you receive favor and reward, or will you not be heard and receive no reward?

What’s the Key to Standing Your Ground?

How you stand your watch determines how you stand your ground?  Consider Habakkuk 2:1.  It says:

I will stand my watch
And set myself on the rampart,
And watch to see what He will say to me,
And what I will answer when I am corrected.

How you stand your ground determines your standing in eternity.
Hebrews 11:23-29 provides us the perfect example in Moses.  Look what Moses told the people in Exodus 14:13-14.

“And Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace."

Or consider Hebrews 11:34 which says, they “quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.”  That refers to testimonies like we find in 2 Chronicles 20:17.  God says to Jehoshaphat and the people.

“You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!' Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you."

Ezekiel 22:30
So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.

Luke 21:36
Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man."

How you take your stand today, determines your standing before the Lord.

My encouragement is that you stand still!  Don’t move off your position.  Are you still standing? Don’t quit.  Do not wiggle, don’t waffle, don’t move.  Stand still.  Stand your watch so that when the Lord looks, He finds you still standing.

This current election seems like an impossible situation. We are seemingly outnumbered, out gunned.  It reminds about David’s mighty men.  Like it is spoken of in 1 Chronicles 11:12-14 that says, “After him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighty men. 13 He was with David at Pasdammim. Now there the Philistines were gathered for battle, and there was a piece of ground full of barley. So the people fled from the Philistines. 14 But they stationed (took a stand) themselves in the middle of that field, defended it, and killed the Philistines. So the LORD brought about a great victory.”

They came to a place where seemingly everyone retreated.  There were a few of David’s might men and they took a stand.

Me I am not retreating any further. How about you?

Now here is the truth.  My opinion about how you stand means very little.  God’s opinion about how we stand means everything.  Consider Romans 14.  It says:

Romans 14:4-12
Who are you to judge another's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.

One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks. For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living. But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written:

"As I live, says the LORD,
Every knee shall bow to Me,
And every tongue shall confess to God."
So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.

What Do You Want Heaven to Record?
Or perhaps I should say, where do you want heaven to record you stood?  Here’s what I want heaven to record.

Ephesians 6:10-18 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints--
