Did you realize that Jesus began His ministry with a very similar message. He says "repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Repent, change your mind, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. It is in Jesus hand and if you will recieve this it can be in your hand as well.
"In your hand" scripturally refers to your power and authority. In other words, it is within your ability but it is your choice. Should you choose to look it is found in verse 3 of...
Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. NKJV
The Key - Meditating on God's Word
King David wrote most of the Psalms staring with Psalm 1. He says here that the key to prospering is found in meditating upon God's word. The first step in meditating in God's word is reading it. Jesus said in Matthew 4:4 that the word of God is just as critical to life as bread is.
"But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
Most eat multiply times during the day. If you don't eat in a relatively short time you will grow weak and die. Tell me, do you feel like you are you dying? Are you weak? Then I urge you that it is time to adjust your spiritual diet. The scripture says:
John 1:1-4
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. NKJV
2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, NKJV
2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. KJV
Hebrews 4:12-16
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
The word of God is our spiritual weapon to and the key in prayer to finding grace to help in time of need. We need this help to prosper in our relationships, health and provision both spiritually and practically. It is the key to transforming society too.
Did you know that only about 5% of Christians have read through the whole Bible? Typically I read through the Bible at least once a year. Some years I've read up to three times. I love to do it for I don't read it alone. Holy Spirit is with me and He teaches and talks to me during my time.
There are many different kinds of Bible reading plans. The one I am doing this year was produced by OliveTree and is called the Kingdom Bible Reading plan. It goes through the Bible in 300 days with a special emphasis on Psalms which I will read twice during that time.
There so many different reading plans out there. Bottom line, if you read three chapters a day, two from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament, you'd read through the Bible in a year. Read 10 chapters a day and you'd read through the Bible three times in one year.
So I'd like to challenge you. Who will join me in reading through the Bible this year?
PS: Isaiah 22:22 speaks of the "Key of David." I believe there are two primary elements of the Key of David. One is God's word and the other, well, I will share that soon!
