Prophetic words from God often foretell what is to come and or share God's heart and thoughts on a matter. This portion of scripture also reveals that prophetic words are also part of the New Testament experience and the word translated "warfare" is very revealing if you look at the Greek word actually translated warfare. It's the Greek word strateia. It's the origin of the word we use for strategy today. Strongs Concordance says that it means "apostolic career, military service or warfare."
It's the same word used in 2 Corinthians 10:3-4, "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."
This portion of scripture reveals that our warfare is a spiritual war against strongholds of thought. Every proud that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Bottom line it is a war for truth against lies.
Looking back at Paul's admonition to Timothy we can understand that God can use prophecy to forewarn us and even give us insight or strategy for the spiritual war that is to come for individuals or in the book of Isaiah's case, for nations.
The Dream Fore-warned Us How the Devil Would Use White Supremacists
The Lord gave Rick Joyner a dream in 1993. It is recorded in "The Coming Catastrophe." The reason I highlight this man's prophetic dream is because he's shared it in other books and articles and at one point around 2011 I remember going to the website of a "Right-Wing Watch" group. They were mocking him and his prophetic word about a coming spiritual civil war and race riots.
When Ferguson occurred a couple of years ago I went back to check and found that group had removed the mocking article. I'd like to share portions of Rick's dream and some other people's prophetic words and share some of the strategy God gave His Church to pray.

Rick references Matthew 24:7-8 which says, "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs."
The word translated nations from from the Greek word ethnos. It refers to ethnic groups.
The Solar Eclipse on August 21, 2017
Then he goes on to share in Matthew 24:25-26 that, "And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth dismay among nations [this is the same Greek word ethnos], in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting [expiring] from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken."
When you put this in the context of what just occurred in Charlottesville and the coming solar eclipse next Monday, it really makes you want to discover what God said we, the Church, should do.
The total eclipse scheduled to occur Monday will go from coast to coast in the United States. The National Eclipse Blog deals with truth and fallacy. It says that this kind of event occurred in 1776 and in June 1918. Those are significant national events. 1776 marks the birth of our nation while the 1918 marked the end of World War 1. This was when America began to emerge as a world power.
What Will Happen?
I can't tell you exactly what will happen but I can tell you that we've been praying for another, a Third Great Awakening in this nation. Wars, hardships, political turmoil accompanied these Great Awakenings.
So what should we, the Church, do? I submit we ought to do what Jesus admonished us in Matthew 26:40-41. He said, "Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Shortly after his warning in Matthew 24 and his prayer in the garden where this admonition took place, Jesus went to the cross. Matthew 27:45 says, "Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land."
Was this a solar eclipse? Probably!
In The Solar Eclipse Across the US "A Sign from God" Pastor Mark Blitz notes that this eclipse occurs 40 days from Yom Kippur. All of this points to a call for us to humble ourselves and repent.
What Did God Call His Church to Do?
To summarize Rick's revelation we were to:
- Be on guard, watch and pray. 1 Thessalonians 5:4-5
- Don't be weighted down with the cares of this world. Matthew 6:21
In The Greatest Awakening & a Famine in the Land Rick repeats a number of things God told us to do that is summarized in 1Church1Day. In preparation for a Great Awakening we are to remember:
- Become a house of prayer for all nations (Ethnos or ethnic groups)
- Why? Because of Luke 21:10, nation would rise against nation. (Foretells of the racism issue).
- The Church is called to be a light in darkness.
- God gives grace to the humble. James 4:3
- Mercy triumps over judgment. James 2:3
Insight into the Root of Racism
There is a root to racism and I believe it is found in the King of Persia which is one of the three kings or principalities we'll deal with in the latter times mentioned in Daniel 8. In "The Book of Daniel & False Profits" I share insights into the 3 kings or principalities that were revealed to Daniel by the angel Gabriel.
The article says, "Persia is represented by modern day Iran. It's a nation led by leaders whom their stated goal is to wipe Israel off the map. Their hatred, violent form of Islamic terrorism is well documented." The hatred of Israel, God's chosen people, the Jews is the root of all racism. It is one of the tenants of many in Islam. Click 'Kill all Jews and annihilate Israel!' Iran's Ayatollah lays out legal and religious justification for attack for an example of what I mean.
The White Supremacist, those espousing Nazism, the perpetrators of the Holocaust, share the same goal. Two different people groups using a similar concept of fascism marked by violence. These two groups would also fight each other. Behold my friends, the finger prints, the characteristics of Satan.
He seeks to kill, steal, destroy, accuse, lie and divide (John 10:10, John 8:44). Jesus came to give life, heal, bind up and unite (John 17:2, Hosea 6:1, Luke 4:18-19, John 17:21).
Let us pray that we the Church re-present Jesus, His love, His character and His power well. Lord help us to pray and act with wisdom in this day that we might see your kingdom come and will be done. Lord, that you might receive the harvest of souls that Jesus' sacrifice and blood is worthy of.
