Dear friends, Shalom to everyone.
Do you know there are two types of tabernacles in the Bible? Both of them were built in Old Testament times. They both have unique comparisons and qualities that stood till now as great blessing to us.
First one is called Tabernacle of Moses, which was built first in wilderness as God directed Moses (Ex 25: 8-9) and fetched wherever and whenever the Israelites moved. The Israelites were also given some regulations to go in and come out. Common citizen was not allowed to go near The Ark of The Covenant where God abides, but only the assigned high Priest would enter in there on behalf of every man once in a year. Every day different types of sacrifices were offered and many animals were killed and sacrificed every day. There is furniture like Water Basin, Table of Bread, Lamp Stand, Altar, and Veil between the places of Holy of Holies and Holy place. We all have mastered with this knowledge and we know also that this symbolizes the gap between people and God.
Another tabernacle is of David which was built on mount Zion. King David had established a new pattern in that tabernacle indifference to Tabernacle of Moses. King David had brought The Ark of Covenant to Zion and placed in tabernacle. I am prompted to bring few significant comparisons between them now.
In David's tabernacle there were no priests, no animal sacrifices except dedicational sacrifices, no furniture, no veil, and no partition of tabernacle. Still God selected Zion as His abiding place (Psalms 132:3), it is called city of God (Ps 48:1). There was direct relationship with God, there was no gap between God and people, King David. There were blessings from Zion 128:5, GOD exalted Himself in Zion Pas 99:2, God shined in glorious radiance, from Zion Ps 50:2... There are many more verses about Zion and the things that are associated with Zion. And this Tabernacle David symbolizes to New Testament Church while Tabernacle of Moses was to Old Testament church. Our God has promised David, that eternal king Jesus will born from His line. The Tabernacle was also a prophetic symbol of New Testament worship. The Pattern that David used was quit different to the pattern that established in Tabernacle of Moses. So the question arises: What are the special things that David established that made GOD to dwell in that place?
Continual Praise and Worship: (1Chro 16:37, 40 )
David had established Praise and worship instead of animal sacrifices. Our father accepts the sacrifices of praise and worship instead of animal sacrifices. This is the pattern of New Testament church. Holy Spirit has inspired Paul to write to Thessalonians in His first letter 5:16-18 “Rejoice ever more; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Jesus Christ concerning you”. (KJV). There was dedicatory sacrifice that symbolizes eternal sacrifice of Jesus Christ. When we are cleansed in His blood thereafter He is expecting us to give our hearts with praise and worship. David had appointed 24 groups to serve at The Tabernacle before God (1 Chro 25 ).
Then another question comes that, How did they worship GOD and How should we worship GOD to make our churches and homes a dwelling place for GOD.
In I Chronicles 16th chapter we could find that they worshiped GOD with thanksgiving, with Praises, with Psalms, with music instruments that were available in those days (I Chro 15:16) David danced before GOD (2 Samuel 6:14) , clapping hands (Ps 47:1), with lifting hands (134:2). And King David made sure that everything was recorded whatever they did in that tabernacle (1 Chro 16:4, 28:12, 19).
But now New Testament church is deliberately avoiding all these ways to worship Him. But GOD loved and accepted this worship pattern. I would encourage you all to follow what GOD accepted and leave what makes GOD angry.
What were the blessings they had enjoyed and how do we relate that to us.
We often ask and seek for the blessings when we worship God and live the pleasing lives for God. If we look at the scriptures to find out what were the actual blessings to those participated in worship, we find following answers:
Most importantly they enjoyed direct relationship with GOD, He dwelled among them, and made their city a center point for GOD's reign on earth. (Ps 132:13, 99:2, 110:2)
Secondly they enjoyed the unity in the kingdom under King David with peace of the LORD. 12 tribes had lived as one family till the reign of Solomon. The kingdom divided when King Solomon fail to continue the pattern that was established by his father King David.
But our father loves to have us and want to dwell on earth among us. So He gave a word to Prophet Amos in prophecy chapter 9 verse 11 and 12. And that scripture quoted and remembered by James the brother of Jesus in the first Christian conference in Jerusalem at the beginning days of the New Testament church. Our Father wants for the NT church to be cleansed by the blood of Jesus and to be His dwelling places establishing David’s pattern of praise and Worship. I challenge you to think that are you the one whom the God wants? Is your church the Church the Father wants? I can boldly say that my church is the church that GOD is pleased because we have established continual praise and worship in our church, and 40+ churches are praying with us to make India a Zion (a dwelling place) for the our Father. If you are willing to join us please make a comment or email us.
Come let us enjoy the direct relationship with the LORD through JESUS living 24/7 continual praise and worship. And let us enjoy the Unity and great revival in our families and churches and nation.
May God bless you!
